A few days ago I came back home from my little trip to St. Petersburg. I've had a great time and made lots of beautiful photos there. Actually there's so many of them that I've decided to divide them into two parts. Here comes the first one!
As we arrived we made it to a hotel - the first one. I call it first 'cause we've been to three other places in two weeks as well. And it's not because we like to move so much :) It's because when you're going to Saint-Peresburg on White Nights period plus with an International economic forum going on - you book a hotel in advance! And that's exactly what we didn't do. So there were only two options left - to buy a very expensive room for a whole period or to find 3-4 days rooms for acceptable prizes. We chose the second option.
After leaving our bags in hotel we went down Nevsky Prospect. As we walked I took some pictures of Kazan Cathedral and a Book house.
Then we climbed up on Saint Isaac's Cathedral Colonnaded Walkway.
Early sunday morning we went to see Hermitage. It was my third time I've visited Winter palace and you know - it's worth it every single time. It's the most beautiful palace I've ever seen!
In the evening we went to see Saint-Petersburg in Miniature.
Next day we moved to another hotel. Very cute and roomy, with a kitchen and many other nice things.
During a week I've been working at the office and I didn't have a chance to walk all day long so I could take only a few pictures. Here is a picture of Vasilievsky Island and a square near metro station Moskovskaya.
We also had a chance to visit Botanic garden situated near the office. As I think - there's almost nothing to look at. It's under reconstruction now and yet you need to pay an admission on the entrance...
Next Saturday we went to Admiralty Embankment to buy tickets to Petergof. And I'll tell you about it in Part 2. Stay tuned!
